Great Tour, Great riding. Very congenial guides. Loved
the flexibility of the support bus.
Did not like the way some drivers hovered to close to
the last rider (we work on that one, Peter:))

We met up with German cyclist and Cebu resident Jens
Funk who has written the very useful Guide 'Cycling
Philippines'. ... We listened excitedly while Jens described
routes and conditions : mostly paved roads,white sand
beaches, tropical island hopping, friendly people and
good food. While he talked we feasted on tasty delights
such as banana blossom salad, sizzling shrimp and sipped
on fresh mango shakes . Our suspicions were confirmed.
We're gonna like touring in the Philippines.

"This
summer we visited the Phillipines. We wanted to do something
'different' and decided to go cycling around some of the
islands. We rented our bikes by Bugoybikers in Cebu. This
is probably the only place in the Phillipines where you
can rent good bikes. Also Jens and Melanie are very helpfull
and they gave us lots of information and advices for our
cyclingtrip. The book 'Cycling the Phillippines' Jens
wrote, is a must!!
... .The most beautiful are the people we have met along
the road. Everybody was so friendly and it was very easy
to get in touch with the Philippinos. Never felt so save
and comfortable in an Asian country as here. ...! Our
cyclingtrip on Bohol and Camiguin was defenitly our best
and most special experience in the Philippines!"

Lieber Jens, liebe Bugoybikers,
Isabel und ich möchten uns recht herzlich für
Eure Arbeit bei der Ausarbeitung unserer Strecke durch
die Inselwelt der Philippinen bedanken.
Gott sei Dank haben wir auf Euch gehört und sind
direkt nach Cebu geflogen ...
Alle Buchungen haben 100%ig geklappt und auch mit den
Unterkünften waren wir stets mindestens zufrieden-
manche waren ein Traum.
... Euer Radreiseführer hat beste Dienste geleistet.
Wir haben immer mal wieder unseren Plan umgeworfen und
eine von Euch besonders empfohlene Route ausgewählt.
Wir wurden nie enttäuscht. Wenn wir gefragt werden,
was man für eine Radtour über die Philippinen
braucht sagen wir: einen Pass, etwas Kleingeld, den
Reiseführer von Jens Peters und Euren Radführer.
Der Rest findet sich. Wir sind schon durch viele Länder
(auch Asiens) geradelt. So einen leichten, stressfreien,
landschaftlich abwechslungs-reichen und günstigen
Trip hatten wir wohl noch nie. Es ist schon ein Wunder,
dass die Philippinen noch nicht als Ziel für Bike
Trips entdeckt wurden. Wir fühlen uns als Pioniere.
Wir kamen uns bei Euch nie wie Eure Kunden vor, sondern
wie schon lange erwartete Freunde.
Ich wünsche Euch weiter viel Erfolg und wir bleiben
in Kontakt.
